Sustainability

One of our core commitments is to create clothing that is in line with the ethical and environmental challenges of our time. Every decision—from fabric sourcing to production and packaging—is guided by a few clear principles.

Designed to Last

We design pieces to be worn for years, not seasons. Silhouettes are timeless rather than trend-driven, and we work only with high-quality materials chosen to age beautifully. The goal is simple: garments that remain desirable, structurally sound, and relevant over time.

Working with Existing Materials

Whenever possible, we create from what already exists. Most of our fabrics are surplus materials from French luxury houses or vintage textiles that we transform into new garments. Designing within this constraint is challenging, but it is also where some of our most unique and daring pieces are born.

Crafted Close to Home

Helena Magdalena pieces are produced in limited series with close attention to detail. Production is split between our own atelier in Brooklyn and a small, family-owned atelier in Paris. Keeping our manufacturing local and transparent allows us to maintain quality standards and ensure humane working conditions at every step.

Conscious Decisions

Behind each piece is a series of choices made with impact in mind. We manufacture in Paris when the fabric originates in France and in Brooklyn when it is sourced in the United States, reducing unnecessary transport. We work in limited quantities to avoid overproduction and favour surplus fabrics over newly milled ones. We offset the carbon footprint of every shipment, avoid plastic in our packaging whenever possible, and offer complimentary repairs so that each piece can be worn and cherished for as long as possible.
