I designed this piece while in lockdown in Marrakech, I had left New York in a hurry as borders were shutting down, and grabbed some fabric to bring to Morocco to keep me company, hoping I was going to find a sewing machine. Not knowing I was going to be stuck there for nearly 5 months, I did not take with me a huge amount of fabric, and I couldn’t find any, anywhere. I started to reduce the amount of fabric per piece as I had no idea when I would be able to find more. At that point I had only a couple yards of silk left and I wanted to make the best out of it. I came up with this dress, that is a single piece of fabric and uses an incredible minimum of fabric with a very smart puzzling situation. Then it took me a little while to take it to perfection as the pattern seems so simple but is actually extremely precise.
